Welcome to the Unofficial Florence. My name is Florence – like the city. However, I am not of the Italian sort and I am more of a traveler than a destination. Here, I share tales of the wild, wacky, and wonderful unofficial wonders of the world.

Who is the Unofficial Florence? Well, the Unofficial Florence is a zealous birder and traveler. You will often find me roaming about the trails, reading classical literature and writing stories. A fun fact about me is I taught myself to use chopsticks the proper way with both hands. Why? Well, I am a rather slow eater and with both hands, I can shovel twice the amount of food in my mouth….
Now, despite my lack of coordination, I am an avid hiker and do attempt to skip down the mountain rather than stumble. I will say, I have not had any serious falls coming down a mountain but down the stairs…that’s another story. Lastly, I am most happy you are here and welcome you to join me, as I learn to overcome gravity and uncover the unofficial wonders of the world…without becoming lost.
